H. Ross Perot was on the Larry King Live Show on CNN April 16, 1992. The following was his reply on the issue of Abortion:
It is the woman's choice. But any time I ever discuss it I say a lot more. The magazines just say "Pro Choice". We are not rabbits. We are thinking, reasoning human beings. Each human life is precious. We don't have to create a new human life unless we want to. There are all kinds of ways to avoid that.
It is absolutely irresponsible for thinking, reasoning human beings to create a human life just because they didn't take the proper precautions. I will be talking a great deal about individual responsibilities. See, right now in our country and starting in Washington nobody wants to take responsibility for anything. For democracy to work every single one of us has to take responsibility for his or her actions and that certainly includes this matter we're talking about. That would take the whole problem from a major problem to a minor problem. Sure it's a woman's choice. But I can't just stop there because each human life is too precious.
(Larry King's personal summary was that Mr. Perot would allow the woman her choice while providing moral leadership.)
